"Disclaimer: I received a pair of AfterShokz Trekz Air headphones to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!"

I received the AfterShokz Trekz Airs right at the perfect time. My old bluetooth headphones we on the outs and not working properly, and there were a few key things that were just not working for me anymore with the fit/sound etc. So I was pretty excited to try these new headphones, which were completely different then anything I had previously used.

I am an avid music listener when I run. I love to turn the music up loud, get lost in the lyrics and just go. Same thing when I am lifting weights. Just in general in terms of safety, if I were running by myself, its hard to enjoy your loud music, because you are trying to be cautious and aware of your surroundings/traffic. At home when I am working out, its typically done when the kiddos are sleeping. So music often times doesn't get listened to because I do not want to wake them up, and regular headphones are not option because you cannot hear anything but your music. But enter the AfterShokz Trekz Air headphones and the game has completely changed!

What did I like about the Trekz Airs?

Not only is the sound quality great, but they are so lightweight and comfortable to wear. I honestly couldn't even tell I was wearing them. They stayed put when running and jumping, and I loved not having an annoying cord bouncing around on my neck.

The open ear design would hands down be my favorite part. I will fully admit I was a bit skeptical at first if I would like the bone conduction technology. I have always used "in-ear" headphones. So this new design was something I hadn't tried before. But now that I have, I will never go back to an in ear design. I was able to crank out a 16 mile run with a friend, listen to my music, chat with her and run along major highways and hear my surroundings all at the same time. Not having to turn the volume down or remove an ear bud to hear everything. At home while I am working out they also allowed me to ride the bike, watch a movie and listen for the kiddos upstairs. I no longer had to go without music or worry the volume from speakers would wake the house up late at night.

Was there anything I didn't like?

No. But maybe its just me having used the same headphones previously for so long, that I just need to get used to the new button to pause/play/skip song etc.

As my training gets back into full swing, I can't wait to take these headphones out on more adventures. I really really like them, and they will will for sure be a key item used in my training going forward. I highly recommend the AfterShokz Trekz Air!! They are great!
